Recomended Burnout Cycle

Investment Preparation
To ensure high-quality casting, we strongly recommend closely following the specifications provided by your chosen investment brand. These specifications include:
- Water-powder ratio (use a scale to measure the water and powder)
- Mixing process and time
- Duration to leave the flask before placing it in the oven
- Burnout cycle
- Casting and pressure control
1. Washing the Models
- Wash the models for 3 minutes with dirty/used alcohol to remove excess resin, then for 3 minutes with clean alcohol (at least 90% pure). Finally, dry them by blowing air, using an
air compressor if available.
- Check the models for uncured resin. If any are found, wash and dry them again.
- Models should not be exposed to alcohol for more than 6 minutes.
- Ethyl alcohol is the preferred choice, but isopropyl alcohol can also be used.
- Models should be cast as soon as possible, ideally within 2 hours. If casting later, store the models in a dark, sealed plastic bag. (Exposure to light & oxygen will cause shrinkage)
2. Investment Process
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the water-powder ratio, mixing process, and
other specifications.
- Ensure the investment is thoroughly vacuumed by applying the vacuum process while
vibrating the investment.
- Place the casting tree as far from the flask's surface as possible (Do not place the printed
model near the flask's wall).
3. Recommended Burnout Cycle
- Allow the flask to settle for at least 3 hours before placing it into the furnace.
- In the final step of the cycle, after reducing the temperature to 1112°F within 1 hour, keep the flask in the furnace at 1112°F degrees Celsius for an additional hour before pouring the metal.
- Use fresh metal for casting. Metal that has been reused more than 3-4 times should not be used.
